Terms & Conditions

Last updated September 15, 2026

These Terms govern your use of CanvasLens, a study tool that reads questions on your screen and explains them. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms. You are contracting with Marcus Hall, trading as CanvasLens ("we", "us").

1. Using the service

You need an account with a verified email address to use CanvasLens. Every new account gets three free reads; paid plans unlock 75 reads/day. You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum digital-consent age in your country) and have authority to accept these Terms.

2. Acceptable use

  • Don't use CanvasLens for unlawful, fraudulent, or abusive purposes.
  • CanvasLens is built for practice sets, homework, and studying. Don't use it to cheat on proctored or live exams, and don't circumvent any proctoring or monitoring system.
  • Don't scrape, probe, or interfere with the service's security or infrastructure.
  • Don't resell, redistribute, or share account access outside your household.
  • Don't infringe anyone's intellectual property, including content on your screen.

3. AI output

Answers and explanations are generated automatically and may be incomplete or wrong. You are responsible for how you use outputs, for verifying anything important, and for having the rights to the content you capture. We may filter, refuse, or moderate requests, and may suspend accounts that repeatedly violate these Terms.

4. Your account

Keep your password confidential — activity under your account is your responsibility. You may delete your account at any time from Settings, which removes your data. We may suspend or terminate access for material breach, non-payment, security or fraud risk, or serious policy violations.

5. Payment and subscription terms

Paid plans are billed through our payment partner. Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Subscriptions renew automatically until canceled; you can cancel anytime from Settings → Manage billing, and you keep access until the end of the period you paid for. The Semester Pro option is a one-time purchase covering about four months and does not renew.

6. Intellectual property

We own the CanvasLens service, software, and branding. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service under your plan. Questions and content visible on your screen remain yours or their owners'.

7. Service level and disclaimers

The service is provided "as is." We don't guarantee uninterrupted or error-free performance, and we disclaim implied warranties to the fullest extent permitted by law.

8. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability is capped at the fees you paid us in the six months before the claim, and we're not liable for indirect or consequential damages (lost profits, data, or goodwill). Nothing limits liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence where the law doesn't allow it.

9. Changes and contact

We may update these Terms; material changes will be announced in the app. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept them. Questions: canvaslens.io@gmail.com.
